  • 2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breast
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 ½ teaspoons salt
  • ground black pepper (to taste)

Instructions

  1. Place chicken breasts in a large ziploc bag. Leave the bag open and pound the chicken to about 1/2 inch thickness using a meat mallet.
  2. In a small bowl, mix olive oil, minced garlic, lemon juice, Italian seasoning, sugar, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Pour the marinade over the chicken in the ziploc bag. Seal tightly and massage to coat. Refrigerate for 4-12 hours.
  3. Remove the chicken from the refrigerator and let it sit for 20 minutes before grilling. Preheat grill to high heat and lightly oil the grates.
  4. Grill chicken for 2-4 minutes per side until juices run clear and internal temperature reaches 165°F. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
