  • 13.25 oz box of vanilla cake mix
  • â…“ cup neutral oil
  • 1 cup milk or water
  • 4 large eggs
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 12 oz candy melts
  • Sprinkles for decoration

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325-350℉ based on package instructions.
  2. Mix all cake ingredients in a bowl, pour into a greased baking pan, and bake according to package directions until a toothpick comes out clean.
  3. Crumble the warm cake in a mixing bowl using a stand mixer or by hand until fine.
  4. Combine buttercream ingredients in another bowl until smooth, then mix with crumbled cake until fully blended.
  5. Roll mixture into 1¼-inch balls and chill in the freezer for 15 minutes.
  6. Melt candy melts as per package instructions; dip lollipop sticks into melted candy before inserting them halfway into each cake ball.
  7. Chill again for another 15 minutes before dipping each ball into melted candy coating and decorating immediately with sprinkles.
  8. Place finished cake pops upright in a styrofoam block until set.
